I’m sorry, we only have street parking. Please do not park in our family driveway.
What to Bring
Cash. Towels! Shower shoes, a drink, soap; anything you’ll need.
Sauna Etiquette
Rinse off in the shower before your sauna and don’t get anything (soap, oils, lotion, etc.) on the wood. Don’t leave hair in the drain. Paper towels will be provided. And, keep it PG13.
About the Owners
Hi, I’m SJ. I like to do crafts, sing, and pet kitties. I met my husband, Claes (rhymes with ‘place’) in 2013 while I was a student at NMU. Claes likes everything. I brought him to a weird and wonderful little place called Second Street Sauna for our second date (swimsuits on) and he fell in love. With the place! It was only our second date. Anyway, we moved into a house just down the street and continued to come here for a sweat now and then, and we always said, “Wouldn’t it be SOOOOOOO COOL to have something like that in our family?!” But, we aren’t related to anyone who has a quirky little business to pass down, so…
Eventually, we got pregnant and moved closer to my family, because that’s what you do. But we missed Marquette. We needed sidewalks. We needed a sauna! We started looking at listings. We could not believe our luck: Second Street Sauna was for sale; our minds were made up; we bought the place and had the best intentions.
We knew it wouldn’t be a real income generator - it only earns enough to pay for it’s energy costs and contribute to building maintenance - but we thought it would be a fun business for the myself and the kids to run together. Like a lemonade stand, but with saunas. It started off fine, except the kids were too young to help me, but then COVID-19 struck and we got scared and closed to the public. For a long time, we were only open to a few members who were granted weekly access. Now we’re ready to give it a try again.

Private Party Rental Package
Did you know we have a hot tub and a larger sauna? No, because it’s private! Choose our party package for your celebration and you’ll have access to the 6-person hot tub, the large sauna, PLUS exclusive use of the other 3 available saunas. Party package includes use of the lobby for food and imbibements. Current rate is $300 for 4 hours (this is a limited time deal while the place is in an “as is” state… as we make improvements to the building, the price will have to come up!). Text to book at least one week in advance.
